Connacht Gold is proud of our history and heritage and playing an active role in our community is an intrinsic part of our brand values.
As one of the biggest investors in the local economy, we endeavour to be an advocate for responsible business, by mentoring students through the Schools’ Business Partnership- an education inclusion programme that partners schools with large businesses.
Together with some of Ireland’s leading blue-chip companies, our team contributes time and expertise to the educational initiative with the aim of increasing the rate of school completion and to enhance the educational experience for students, principals and teachers.
Our staff work together to raise funds annually for good causes as part of our co-operative’s Charity of the Year initiative. This year, we’re raising funds for ISCPP/Childline.
In the past we have supported the Chernobyl Children’s Project humanitarian aid convoy, Special Olympics Ireland and Pieta House.
Food is what we’re about, and we’re delighted to be involved in a number of regional and national food projects.
Connacht Gold is partner for the Butter Category of Easy Food magazine’s Home Cook Hero Awards- a fun national cookery competition for non professional chefs. We also organise a Junior Chef Challenge for second level students in conjunction with St Angela’s College, NUI Galway. And we exhibit at a number of Food Festivals including, Westport Food Festival and A Taste of Sligo.
Over the years, Connacht Gold has been to the fore of hosting great consumer offers and giveaways, with everything from soccer balls and bicycles to cars and holidays.
With health and nutrition at the heart of our dairy product ranges, Connacht Gold has a strong tradition of supporting the sporting community. We currently have active partnerships with local sports organisations and events including, Leitrim GAA Senior Championship, Mayo Association Football League, Sligo Rovers and the West of Ireland women’s mini marathon.

In partnership with the National Dairy Council, Connacht Gold has hosted a number of free Health and Wellbeing events to advise the public on best practice for physical health and wellbeing and the benefits of dairy as part of a healthy balanced diet.
The events are always engaging and entertaining with audiences being wowed by the culinary skills of TV3 Ireland AM resident chef, Joe Shannon. Guests speakers have included nutritionist and former RTE Health Squad presenter Paula Mee, and Dr Tony Bates, Psychologist and founder of Headstrong- the youth mental health charity and style and beauty blogger, Pippa O’Connor.
