Connacht Gold has struck gold once again at the internationally recognised Great Taste Awards 2018, achieving gold stars for three of its butter products.
Growing on the success of previous years, the 2018 award winning products are the much-acclaimed Connacht Gold Creamery butter; Connacht Gold Garlic and Herb butter and Connacht Gold Softer butter.
The Connacht Gold products were selected for gold stars from over 10,000 food products entered by over 2,000 companies across Europe.
Judged by over 400 of the most demanding palates belonging to food critics, chefs, cooks, members of the Women’s Institute, farmers and a host of food writers and journalists, Great Taste is widely acknowledged as the most respected food accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food producers.
Speaking about Connacht Gold’s Softer butter, the panel of judges complimented the product for its appearance and taste. “Delicious, smooth, creamy texture and a richness that’s delightful and full of flavour it also has a good salt level.”
Of Connacht Gold’s Garlic and Herb butter, the judges said: “Pleasant on the nose with a herb and garlic aroma which is pleasing, whilst being deliciously rich on the palate”.
Of Connacht Gold’s Creamery butter, the judges said: “This is a lovely creamy looking butter which follows through and doesn’t disappoint with its rich and smooth taste. The is the type of butter we would all like to have on our breakfast toast with a cup of tea.”
Connacht Gold Softer butter was the recipient of Great taste stars in 2012 and 2014 with Connacht Gold Garlic and Herb butter being awarded gold stars in 2010, 2014 and 2015 and our Connacht Gold Creamery butter picking up Great taste awards in 2013, 2014, 2016 and now 2018.
